More than 200 TASIS alumni and friends enjoyed a fabulous evening at the elegant Yale Club in New York City on Friday, November 17.
More than 80 alumni—a record turnout for a Lugano reunion—toured campus and enjoyed a fantastic dinner in the Casa Fleming garden that went late into the evening.
Class of 2023 Salutatorian Claudia Clarke Gosalvez (Spain/United States) will enroll at Trinity College Dublin as a Pre-Medicine student after also considering offers from Yale University, Brown University, Emory University, Case Western Reserve University, Pennsylvania State University, University of Glasgow, University College London for Medical Innovations and Enterprise, and University of Navarra for Medicine.
William Derek Pacini ’23 (Italy/United States) chose the first-rate university, where he also intends to minor in Aerospace Engineering and Electronic Intelligent Systems, over Brigham Young University, Rice University, University of Utah, and University of California, Davis.
Nitya Dalmia ’23 (India) turned down offers from Boston University, Chapman University, and Emerson College in order to enroll at New York University, where she will pursue an Interdisciplinary Studies degree with a focus on screenwriting.
Michelangelo Vecchio ’23 (Italy) will study Economics and compete for the Varsity Sailing team at Bowdoin College after also being recruited by Boston College, Tufts University, and St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
2023 Cynthia Whisenant Award for Excellence in English Literature recipient Nitzan Alex Gabriel ’23 (Israel) has chosen to attend Reed College after also considering offers from the only two other schools she applied to: Sarah Lawrence College and Bard College.
2023 Excellence in Science Award recipient Spencer LeGresley (Canada) will pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan after also considering offers from University of Toronto, University of Waterloo, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, University of Texas at Austin, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and Pennsylvania State University.
Caroline Francis Krajicek ’23 (Kenya/United States) will pursue a degree in International Relations at the University of San Francisco Honors College after earning a full scholarship as a Black Scholar.
David Ariza Solans '23 (Spain), who speaks six languages and also received offers from Northeastern University and SOAS, hopes to enter the field of diplomacy and one day serve as a delegate for the United Nations.
Susanna Campbell ’23 (United States) intends to study Economics or Commerce at the University of Virginia, choosing the prestigious public research university over University of Georgia and University of Alabama.
Alejandro A Orozco ’23 (United States/Colombia), who intends to pursue a career in law, will attend the University of Texas at Austin after also gaining admission to the other five schools he applied to: University of Houston, University of Texas at Arlington, University of Texas at San Antonio, Texas A&M University, and Trinity University.
Following seven years at TASIS, Silvia Cribari ’23 (Italy) chose the historic Scottish university after also fielding offers from University of Warwick, University of Manchester, Northeastern College London, and Colby College.
Marat Kurmanaev ’23 (Russia/Spain), who speaks six languages and studied at TASIS for eight years, selected the world-class business school over IE Business School in Madrid.
Nina Mondin ’23 (Brazil/Italy) has decided to attend Loyola Marymount University after also receiving offers from Chapman University, San Diego State University, University of San Diego, and Whittier College.
