TASIS Opens 2016–2017 Academic Year with Students from 61 Different Nations

After bidding farewell to the largest senior class in School history (123 students), TASIS opened the 2016–2017 Academic Year with 716 students. This year’s student body can be broken down as follows:

  • The Elementary School (grades Pre-Kindergarten through five) opened with 190 students, the Middle School (grades six through eight) has 138 students, and the High School (grades nine through postgraduate) has 388 students.

  • 71 percent of students are returning to TASIS, and 29 percent are new to the School.

  • 66 percent of all students in the High School are boarders.

  • 61 nationalities are represented in the student body (see complete list below).

  • 35 different languages are spoken as a mother tongue (see list below).

  • An even 100 students hold an American passport.

  • The ten nationalities most represented in the TASIS student body this year are, in alphabetical order, American, Brazilian, British, Chinese, Italian, German, Russian, Spanish, Swiss, and Turkish.
