Traveling Before Graduation
This is a reminder that all boarding students must remain in the dorms through the end of their academic responsibilities. The final day of class for non-AP and non-IB courses is Friday, May 24, and senior exams for these courses will take place on the following Monday–Wednesday (May 27–29). Many AP and IB students will finish their exams much earlier than this. In these cases, students may travel upon completion of their last exam but must first visit the Deans Office to review their plans. We typically expect these students to return to the dorms by Monday, May 27, as all students must attend the Academic Awards Assembly on Tuesday, May 28.
To summarize, boarding students are allowed to travel before graduation if
- they have completed all of their academic obligations
- they have gone through the normal travel process
- they are prepared to return to their dorm by the evening of Monday, May 27
Special note: Any students who are planning to check out of the dormitory permanently once their academic obligations are complete must move out of their dorm completely before they will be cleared to travel. (And they will still be expected to attend the Academic Awards Assembly on May 28.)
Final Exam Schedule for Seniors: May 27–29
Please see below the final exam schedule for all non-AP and non-IB courses. Seniors who have earned an A- or better in a class may be exempt from taking a final exam at the discretion of the teacher.
