Weekend activities are open to all day and boarding students. Students should consult the HS Daily Bulletin for sign-up information and more details about each activity.

PSAT and Terry Fox Run on October 16

All students in grades 9–11 will take the PSAT at 8:00 on Wednesday, October 16. Seniors and Postgraduate students will participate in a college/university application workshop that morning.

Students taking the PSAT will receive an email 2–3 days before the test explaining the specific location they should report to. Please remind your children to bring the following things on test day: two No. 2 or HB pencils, a calculator, their TASIS ID, and their very best attitude and effort!

Following the PSAT/college application workshop, all High School students will participate in the third-annual TASIS Terry Fox Run.

TPA Hike & Lunch Moved to October 16

Due to poor weather this Wednesday, the TPA hike has been moved to this coming Wednesday, October 16. Join hike leaders Vittoria Marazzi and Francesca Varano for a beautiful 90-minute hike—with a stop for lunch at Ristorante Vicania in Vico Morcote before heading back to the point of origin. Everyone is welcome!

All hikers will meet in the Carona parking lot at 11:00. Please RSVP to so that the TPA can contact you with any additional details. The trip may be postponed again in the event of inclement weather.

Spooky Sunday Brunch on October 20

The TPA will be sponsoring a Spooky Sunday Brunch for Middle and High School students on Sunday, October 20, from 10:00–12:45. Parents who would like to help decorate Villa De Nobili, bake treats, or serve food should contact their TPA division coordinator or send an email to

Join Us for Lunch and a Discussion on October 22

All TASIS parents are invited to an informational event in Casa Fleming on Tuesday, October 22, beginning at 11:30. Headmaster Christopher Nikoloff and Accreditation Coordinator Nilda Lucchini will provide an update about the accreditation process and lead a discussion about the School’s ongoing efforts to develop a Definition of High Quality Learning, for which parents will be encouraged to provide feedback.

A panini lunch will be served in Casa Fleming at 11:30 for those interested. The presentation and Q&A will commence at 12:00 and should conclude by 13:00.

Reserve Your Seats for A Christmas Carol

This year’s High School Fall Play, A Christmas Carol, will premiere in the Palmer Center at 19:30 on the evening of Friday, November 15, with additional performances at 19:30 on Saturday, November 16, and at 14:30 on Sunday, November 17. The cast and crew include faculty members and students from all three TASIS divisions.

Please visit to reserve your seats for this treasured holiday classic.

Join us as we kick off the winter holiday season with the theatrical production of Charles Dickens’s world-famous A Christmas Carol. In the tale, miserly, mean-spirited Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by three spirits who take him backwards, forwards, and sideways in time to try to teach him the values of compassion and empathy. The production stays faithful to Dickens’s story, filling the stage with colorful characters, music and dance, ghosts and spirits, and an author whose love of life and humanity provokes us to seek out the best in ourselves.

Save the Date: Yoga Marathon on November 23

The second annual TASIS Yoga Marathon will take place on Saturday, November 23, from 9:00–16:30. This Serving Southern Africa fundraiser will be structured similarly to last January’s very successful event, which raised CHF 3000 for underprivileged children in Zambia. More information will be shared soon.

Reminder: Winter Dress Code Begins on Monday

This is a reminder that starting on Monday, October 14, all students will be expected to follow the Winter Dress Code. Polo shirts will no longer be permitted, and all outer layers—including sweaters and coats— must have the TASIS crest. See the uniform section of the High School Student Handbook for more details.

Students who are lacking Winter Uniform items are advised to place an order with Unique Uniforms or stop by the TASIS Uniform Shop, which is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00–13:00 on the ground floor of Monticello (across from the vending machines).
