Service Learning News

Environmental Saveurs: No Dress Code Day
The Environmental Saveurs Service Learning group held a No Dress Code Day on December 13. They earned CHF 475, which will be donated to ProNatura, the oldest Swiss preservation organization in Switzerland! This is the same organization we are working with to help restore the peat bog area in Bedrina. Thank you to everyone who participated in our No Dress Code Day!

Hope and Homes for Children (Romania): Bake Sale on Friday, January 31
This week our group discussed how gratitude and service are connected, and then we extended the scope of our vision to other areas of the world that might need our help more urgently. Globally, our attention is drawn to the bushfires raging across the continent of Australia. For the moment, we have decided to place a temporary hold on our efforts for HHC and focus on raising funds for the Australian Red Cross. They don't have specific funds for the fires, so we will do our part to assist them the best we can by having a bake sale on Friday, January 31, in De Nobili at lunchtime. We would appreciate any baked goods you care to donate or funds you may offer to support the Red Cross. Please contact faculty leaders Mr. Alava or Ms. Sartorelli for more information.
