The Cultural Events calendar gives both students and the wider TASIS community access to a variety of events both on campus and off. Highlights of the year so far include a workshop by TASIS alumna and renowned photographer Gina van Hoof ’96, an assembly concert by violinists Lisa Rieder and Igor Longoto, and off-campus trips to museums in Basel and the opera in Como.
On Thursday, November 1, TASIS welcomes award-winning photographer and environmentalist Daisy Gilardini. Daisy will give a talk about her work followed by a slide show accompanied by live music by the Paetsch Family Ensemble.
Daisy’s photography has been published in National Geographic, Smithsonian, BBC Wildlife, Audubon, The Telegraph, and Outdoor Photography, among others, and by Greenpeace and the World Wildlife Fund. She especially enjoys photographing the wildlife and landscapes of polar regions. Originally from Lugano, Daisy now lives in Canada. Here is an interview and slideshow of Daisy's work given through the Manfrotto School of Excellence Interview series.
TASIS will feature an exhibition of Daisy’s photography in the Green Room Gallery of the Palmer Center to coincide with her visit. She will be on campus to meet with students and visit classes from October 29 to November 2.
