The year has got off to a roaring start, with special events, sports competitions, tests, reading, and classes in full swing. In addition to the hum of everyday life at a school, a TASIS year starts out with many traditional community-building events such as the High School Boat Dance, the MS/HS Class Hikes, Founder's Day, and ES Curriculum Night.

But the most magical events are the little things. Roommates learn to live together, students begin to develop study skills, Pre-K children can attend a day of classes with smiles instead of tears, and everyone learns how to navigate the dining halls. It has been a good start to the 2013 -2014 school year with memories being made every day.

The High School Boat Dance on Lake Lugano was held on Saturday, September 7. This year's Boat Dance had absolutely perfect weather. View photographs in TASIS Boat Dance gallery or TASIS SmugMug.

On Tuesday, September 10th, the Middle and High School joined together in the Palestra to celebrate Founder's Day. A short assembly was held with special greetings to current students from Alumni where they related favorite Mrs. Fleming memories. Headmaster Dr. Skipper also addressed the community. TASIS ES vocal music teacher Melody Tibbits sang "Here There Must be a School". Yellow roses were again give out to place in the fountain.
Class Hikes were not cancelled this year! The weather held, and the MS/HS left campus to explore Ticino for an entire day. The trips were organized by grade level allowing for students to get to know their fellow classmates and faculty advisors in a relaxed and beautiful setting.
