Set 2: TASIS 25-7 ASM
Set 3: TASIS 25-19 ASM
On Tuesday, September 25, the Junior Varsity Girls Volleyball team traveled to Milan to play a friendly game against ASM.
The girls started out feeling a little stiff and unsure of themselves and seemed to be lacking some energy in the first set. Their lack of confidence on the court cost them the win, with the scored ending up 25–20 in ASM’s favor. After some regrouping and a new mindset, the girls started out their second set strong and kept their lead for the duration of the game. Maria Mochalnikova ’22 gave great passes to her setter while Emilie Hansen ’20, Airi Barnes ’20, and Alara Secilmis ’20 had impressive runs with their serving, often earning the team 5 or 6 points in a row! The second set ended with a commanding 25–7 TASIS win.
With a newfound energy, the girls began their third set with some excellent blocking from Dalilia Sultangazina ’22 and some great improvements in both skill and confidence from Carolina Zanon di Valgiurata ’21. The girls on the bench kept up with their encouragement and spirit, cheering on the many substitutions on the court. Many switches were made, and the girls had the opportunity to get creative on the court. Zhamilya Mussaibekova ’22, am outside hitter, even stepped up to play middle, a new position to her! All these changes resulted in TASIS prevailing in the third set by a score of 25–19 ASM.
The team is looking forward to any opportunity where it can play upcoming games and showcase its skills! Well done, girls! Go Tigers!
