Event Recap:

TASIS 0 - 5 FFLugano

The Varsity Girls Soccer team played under the lights in downtown Lugano after accepting an invitation from the local professional club team. The defense stepped up in a big way while being under constant pressure all night. Led by goalkeeper Katie Kelly '19 and Alexia Agnini-Bile '20, the defense absorbed the pressure and kept its opponent off the scoreboard for much of the first half. Eve Ryan '19 and Heather Hines '19 worked hard all night in the center part of the midfield to try to regain control of the game, but Lugano continued to move the ball around and change the point of attack. Defenders Desiree Wilkinson '19Sofia Rita '21, and Olivia Haunso '19 also worked tirelessly all night to help fend off the constant attacks.

The Tigers will host the Swiss Group of International Schools (SGIS) Tournament next weekend at the Tenero Sports Complex near Locarno as they look to improve on their 5th-place performance from a year ago. They will then play host to their rivals from Milan in the NISSA Championships the following weekend before flying off to Lisbon, Portugal, for the European Schools Conference (ESC) Championships in mid-November.
