TASIS The American School in Switzerland held a special Founder’s Day Assembly on the afternoon of September 12 to commemorate the incredible life of international education pioneer M. Crist Fleming, who overcame many obstacles to found the School in 1956 and nurture it to greatness. The inspiring assembly, which can be viewed in full below, included engaging remarks from Headmaster Christopher Nikoloff and a number of excellent presentations and musical performances designed to highlight Mrs. Fleming’s love of learning languages and conviction that TASIS would, well beyond her own lifetime, “continue to bring young people of the world together with a shared vision that the world is really one big family, that no matter what our color, race, or creed, we are all part of the human species, we are all human beings.”

Following the assembly, students and faculty members moved to the MCF Piazza to enjoy cake and the time-honored Founder’s Day tradition of tossing yellow rose petals into Mrs. Fleming’s fountain.
