Thanks to tremendous support from the TASIS Parent Association (TPA) and the remarkable efforts of student and parent volunteers, TASIS was able to provide students in all three divisions a delightful Halloween experience this year.

On the morning of Sunday, October 21, Middle School and High School students enjoyed an elaborate Halloween Brunch in the De Nobili Dining Hall and on the De Nobili Terrace. Many TASIS students and faculty children wore creative costumes, and the Halloween-themed music playing inside combined with the spooky decorations both inside and outside of De Nobili contributed to the festive atmosphere.

The usual brunch menu of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and crêpes was supplemented with black spaghetti, hamburgers, hot cocoa, a waffle station, and an enormous spread of homemade baked goods, including Rice Krispies Treats, cookies, cakes, and brownies.

Later in the week—on Friday, October 26—Elementary School students celebrated Halloween with delicious homemade treats and a costume parade. Focolare students (grades Pre-Kindergarten through 1) marched in the afternoon and had hot cocoa and other treats afterward. Hadsall and Aurora students (grades 2–5) took part in a Halloween Sing-Along in the Palmer Center before enjoying their parade and snacks. (Also worth noting is that parents of 5th-grade students organized a trick-or-treat outing around Montagnola on the evening of October 20.)

The TASIS Administration wishes to express its profound gratitude to all the parents and students who put so much work in behind the scenes to make these community-building events such a big success. “It was wonderful to see our community come together to provide our students with an opportunity to celebrate a fun holiday in the American style,” said Headmaster Christopher Nikoloff, whose home was part of the grade five trick-or-treating route. “I’m endlessly impressed with the lengths our parents are willing to go to in order to enhance the student experience at TASIS.”
